A Public Lecture on "Sri Lanka to be "Hydrogen Ready - by 2030" at Wimalasurendra Auditorium, IESL

Hydrogen is becoming the most preferred fuel in the aviation and shipping industry. Sri Lanka having key ports in the south Indian Ocean needs to restructure its bunkering and aviation fuel storage facilities to cater to future fuel needs. Hydrogen could be generated using many ways. However, as a country, Sri Lanka needs to employ the most feasible means of generating hydrogen. The prospective use of electrolysis and Steam reformer technologies are at the forefront in the ease of adaptability of the same for Sri Lanka. Hydrogen storage is the most challenging sector and commonly used method to store cryogenically in a liquid form. Low temperatures are required to stop the liquid hydrogen from boiling off back into a gas and the industry faces a lot of challenges with hydrogen storage. This public lecture expects to cover the hydrogen generation in Sri Lanka and the challenges in making Sri Lanka Hydrogen Ready by 2030
